What Is Matcha?

An ancient Japanese ritual, crafted for modern focus and daily wellness.

At Satori, our matcha is sourced exclusively from the first harvest, when the youngest leaves are at peak freshness and nutrient density. We shade our tea gardens for 25–30 days which increases L-theanine for a naturally sweeter taste, while boosting chlorophyll and EGCG for that vivid green colour. Our leaves are stone-ground to protect flavour and antioxidants, Certified organic and pesticide-free. Pure ceremonial grade matcha, unblended, nothing added.

Natural Energy and Focus

Matcha delivers a steady energy because its caffeine is paired with antioxidants, which slow absorption. It also contains L-theanine, the amino acid shown to boost alpha brain waves for relaxation and sharper focus. Our Matcha test at around 2× the amount of the L-theanine in your average matcha. The result is clear, sustained energy for hours, without jitters or a crash.

Traditional Japanese Heritage

Not all matcha from Japan is the same, different regions produce different cultivars and qualities depending on soil, climate, and craftsmanship. While areas like Kagoshima or Nishio often focus on volume or stronger flavours, Satori sources exclusively from Uji, Kyoto, the birthplace of matcha, and still sets the gold standard. Our founder hand-selects first-harvest leaves every year with our farmers, to ensure you get the smooth, naturally sweet, vibrant ceremonial-grade matcha Satori is known for.

The Perfect Matcha

Sift 1–2 teaspoons of Satori Matcha into your bowl and add hot (not boiling) water. Whisk briskly in a zig-zag until a smooth, vibrant froth appears. The simple act of whisking becomes a grounding ritual, inviting you to slow down and be present. Each sip carries the natural calm and focus of L-theanine, making your matcha both a drink and a mindful moment.
